Outside Space

The Little House is tucked away in the landscaped and illuminated gardens of Heather Farm, accessed via a 250m unmade track. As you arrive, you'll find your own private driveway with parking for two cars, meaning no need to struggle with your luggage!
Step through the little gateway into your enclosed, private, dog friendly garden with lawn and loungers, designed as a peaceful retreat. You can relax on the patio or veranda, enjoy a BBQ, and watch the birds visiting the feeders, and toast marshmallows over the firepit. The veranda, illuminated by festoon lights, is a place for an atmospheric evening drink after a busy day exploring.
From your private garden you are welcome to step through the garden gate to enjoy the rest of the property.
Adjacent to The Little House are the formal gardens with a rill water feature where you can enjoy the relaxing sounds of the water, magical both in daylight and equally special after dark when it is illuminated.
In the wild flower meadow and orchard you will find the wildlife pond where the bench is a perfect place for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Take time to feed the fish and watch the dragonflies during the summer months..
Visit the ducks and chickens and watch their hilarious antics. They will greatly appreciate any kitchen scraps that you may have to offer, but under the kitchen sink you will find chicken food, as well as fish food to share.
Follow the arrows directing you along the paths through the fields, where you may see our equine residents Saucy and Minty, who are always inquisitive to meet visitors. The route then takes you through our son Tom's wood yard and you will begin to understand why we are happy to offer you an unlimited supply of logs for the log burner and fire pit! The path then leads you through the wood with a view of our resident bee hives to a little gate and there you have direct access to thousands of acres of common land for you to explore, with not a road to cross.

So that relaxation starts the moment you walk through the door, why not book a grocery delivery for the morning of your arrival. Most supermarkets will deliver here. Tell us when it is to arrive and we will pack it safely away ready for your arrival.

Other things NOT to pack: Worries, big or small. Guilt about doing absolutely nothing. A suitcase full of stress. A mental list of things you ‘should’ be doing. That feeling you’ve forgotten something important when you haven’t. All deadlines, expectations and anything labelled ‘urgent’.
